The ollection consists of a summary of expenses for surveys in the Western Reserve for the Connecticut Land Company; letters from Jared Mansfield, Samuel Storrs, Joseph Beebe, Oliver Beebe, Leonard Case, Noah Newton, and from Henry Champion, a director of the Connecticut Land Company, concerning the southwest boundary of the Western Reserve; and papers concerning the survey of the Firelands by Maxfield Ludlow.

The collection consists of petitions, affidavits, and other legal papers, relating to the proceedings of Ohio Militia regimental courts and Common Pleas courts, held in Hayslip's home in West Union, Adams County, Ohio. Includes rosters, muster rolls, and election poll books for various brigades of the Ohio Militia during the War of 1812, and letters and other papers concerning pension matters, particularly those of Captain William Faulkner.
